Outreach Committee

The Membership & Outreach Committee is composed of active Chamber members. Their main focus is to promote the Chamber and its benefits to the community-at-large and to identify ways to increase our membership base, while at the same time trying to add to (and articulate) the many benefits the Chamber provides to its members.

Business Builder Workshops originated from feedback received from our members: that Mixers and the Chamber were viewed as more of a social group rather than being business-focused. Thus, we worked to create a series of short, power-packed workshops to deliver real-world business education to our members, with the small business owner in mind.  We decided to call them "workshops" instead of "seminars" because many people perceive seminars as full-day events.  A workshop typically lasts only 2-3 hours so it does not interfere with the busy work schedules of our many members.  Topics have included:  ABC-Access to Business Capital; E-Mail and Internet Marketing; Marketing to a Diverse Population; and Identity Theft & Fraud.

Currently, the committee is working to enhance the Member-to-Member Discount (M2M) program and to develop a Hispanic Chamber membership card.

Most committee members also are Ambassadors, serving as liaisons between our members and the Board of Directors. Ambassadors provide extra hands at various Chamber events with greeting, registration, clean-up, and marketing and promoting events.

If you would like to join the committee or become an Ambassador, please contact Committee Chair Chris Sanchez at outreach@hcc-sc.org.
